NOVEMBER Competition information!

CONTEMPORARY SOUTHWEST REALISM

DETAILS:

- Entry Deadline: October 15, 2011

- 10 finalists will be selected for our November Juried Group Show, from which a GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected by JAMIE MARKLE, Publisher and Editorial Director, FW MEDIA.

- GRAND PRIZE: A one- person show May 2012 at Arroyo, Canyon Road’s first fine art gallery!

Artist is invited to attend the opening and reception of the May show, scheduled reception and opening 5-7pm, May 4th. Show to run through May 23, 2012.

A 5- night stay May 1- 6, 2012 is included for the winner at Fairmont Heritage Place El Corazon de Santa Fe (no cash value).

JUROR for the grand prize is JAMIE MARKLE, PUBLISHER & EDITORIAL DIRECTOR of FW MEDIA- including Southwest Art Magazine and The Collector's Guide, among many other publications.

ENTRANT & ARTWORK SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Open to all artists producing 2-dimensional work including painting, mixed media, pastel, silkscreen, woodcut, lithography, and ingtalio. (No photography)

ENTRY FEE: $30 for up to 3 email images, $35 for 4, $40 for 5. (Max. 5 images)

Entrants must provide images via email for submission to: info@arroyosantafe.com.

10 finalist images will be chosen between Oct 16 and Oct 20, 2011.

Selected artists will be contacted by ARROYO from Oct 16-20 to ship their selected work to the gallery.

ALL selected artwork is to arrive pre-paid shipped to ARROYO, 200 Canyon Road, Santa Fe NM 87501 by FRIDAY NOV 4th. No exceptions!

Maximum framed, finished artwork is not to exceed 45X45 inches square.

Framing and presentation should be gallery quality.

Shipment and insurance of artwork to/from gallery artist’s responsibility.

Artwork is to be insured for shipment to and from Arroyo by ARTIST. Arroyo accepts NO FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY for lost, stolen, or damaged work during shipment to or from ARROYO gallery.

Once selected, pre-payment for return shipping will be required by artist. Credit card arrangements can be made with ARROYO for the return shipment.

Arroyo will hang selected submitted art for the duration of the show, Nov 11-29, 2011.

Artists contractually bound to exclusive representation with any other gallery within 50 (fifty) mile of Santa Fe must show proof of exemption from his/her gallery to participate.

Retail pricing for selected works to be agreed upon before the show by artist and ARROYO.

Pieces not sold, or those not selected as the grand prize winner, will be return shipped to the artists December 1-10, 2011.

JAMIE MARKLE of FW MEDIA Juror for our November Competition!

JAMIE MARKLE, Publisher and Editorial Director of FW Media will be JUROR of Arroyo's November Competition- "Contemporary Southwest Realism", scheduled for Nov 11 through Nov 29.

Jamie brings a wealth of experience to the role of Juror for this competition, as he oversees publishing and editorial at publications for FW Media including The Collector's Guide, and Southwest Art Magazine.

Additional properties under Jamie's watch have included: North Light Books, IMPACT Books, The Artist's Magazine, Watercolor Artist, The Pastel Journal, www.artistsnetwork.com, www.wetcanvas.com and www.artistsnetwork.tv.

Jamie has juried numerous competitions and he has worked with hundreds of artists and overseen the development and execution of dozens of books and other products.

As a fine artist, he has had the opportunity to work in many different media, including acrylic, watercolor, oil and collage.

We at Arroyo are very excited to have Jamie as our grand prize juror for our November competition. Competition submissions deadline is OCT 15! See recent news here for details!
